Your storytelling session
I know it isn't easy to be vulnerable infront of a camera. I am here to assure you that I keep things as simple, carefree, and natural as possible. With my guidance, we will start out with a few posed images to get you used to the camera. I will use a few prompts to help lead you into connection and I often like to play music to keep the environment calm and stress free. This will allow for those natural moments to grow organically. When I photograph you, I want you to feel safe and allow yourself to be present so that you can look back on your images and feel those emotions all over again.

What do we wear?
This is a question I receive a lot and I do feel it is an important aspect of your session. As a photographer, I like to keep things simple so that the focus is on you; textures, fabric that has movement, natural muted colours and simplistic patterns are good starting points. I request that no logos be worn, stark white, or bright flashy colours such as neon. I have created a Pinterest board for inspiration which you can find below. If you need assistance with this aspect of your session, I would be happy to discuss and direct you to affordable clothing styles that are consistent with what you see in my body of work. I also want my clients to feel like themselves, so in the end it's up to you.
What method of payment do you take?
I accept Visa, Mastercard, EMT's, Cheques and Cash. I also offer payment plans for those wishing to spread out their payments (up to 3 months maximum). If you choose to be put on a payment plan, your photos will not be released to you until all balances are paid in full.
Do you use props or will you replicate photos off pinterest?
I am always open to hearing my clients ideas, and would love to be a part of creating an image that you envision. My main goal as a photographer is tell your story and capture connections as naturally as possible. I highly recommend taking the time to look through my portfolio of work and see if my style is in line with yours.
What happens after the session?
After your session, I will go through all the images and favourite the ones I feel told your story the best. I average around 50-75 from a half hour session and about 150 from a one hour session. Editing can vary between 2-3 weeks. When your session is completed, I will upload your files online with a download link.
Where do you shoot?
Majority of my sessions take place in the Centre Wellington area since that's where I live. I have a few favourite locations here, but I'm always looking for something new! Some of the locations I choose are scouted out just for your session. Let me know how adventurous you are! Every booked session includes clothing and location advice, and we make the decision together.
What is your payment structure?
A $100 non-refundable retainer along with a signed contract is due upon scheduling a date and time with me. This fee allows me to forego any other client for your date and time as I do not shoot more than one session in a day. In the case that you need to reschedule, I allow fee's to be transferred to another date within the same year.
All collections need to be paid in full 24 hours before the session is to commence (unless a payment plan has been established with me)
Do you travel?
Yes! Travel fees may apply depending on where your desired location is. I especially love shooting in new places, and would love to do more beach sessions. I am open to waiving travel fees for certain areas. If you have a special location you want your session to take place in, let's chat!
Do you shoot weddings?
I don't currently shoot weddings. I was a wedding photographer for eight years, and my focus is now on families so that I can be with mine. I would however LOVE to photograph an elopement, so if that is something you are looking for, please reach out.
Do you do birth photography?
As of now I do not shoot birth photography or have a portfolio to showcase births. With that being said, birth photography is something I have always wanted to explore. Being a mother of four, birth is something close to my heart. If you are having a baby and interested in having your birth documented, I would love to hear from you.
